RULE EIGHT: MOTIVATION—Keep Up the Writing Form.

RULE EIGHT

MOTIVATION—Keep Up the Writing Form.

Time leaves behind anyone who is inactive, but stands still for the ones that will move alongside—revealing proofs worth their waiting. Many people, who dreamt of writing a book, never did; hence, they have nothing to show for their miscarried dreams. Oh no, they show something: Regrets! The reason this happened is because they had no motivation strong enough to start and finish any literary composition. All they did was brag about the great books that they had in minds to write, which would have transformed the world into a better place: little wonder, our world is not better yet, as these aspiring writers never wrote. Not finishing a writing project is in similitude to not writing it at all; being that in both cases, nothing substantial can be shown for the inspirations that came.

Dreaming and eventually visualizing a book are natural processes of writing, making it impossible for dream alone to complete any writing goal: in order to actuate any worthy dream, action needs to be taken. As with grains and chaff, writers are separated from dreamers: for despite all odds, the former were determined to start and finish at least a book or an article, and they did—just as the tossed grains resistantly stay back atop the twitching tray; conversely, the latter had their dreams wither atop the tree of abulia, whence they fell—never attempting the undertaking or dropping off it: they neither wrote nor finished one. Every writer faces writing mountains and valleys such as writers’ block, and lack of ideas; meanwhile, distractions like television programs, computer games, social media, email … even phone calls, abound in the vicinage where this endeavour takes place. You must be determined from the outset of every writing project to jump all hurdles—impediments, and steer clear from every quagmire—distraction, in order to achieve your purpose. The victory of overcoming the necessary barriers emboldens the writer, and adds triumph to the worthy course: triumph—a great motivating factor in the art of writing.

Motivation is the psychological feature that arouses an inactive organism into an action that gears it toward a desired goal: this is the reason, which draws the direction as well as incites the action that actuates any select purpose. In order to keep the engine of motivation steaming, the finish line must remain in view. The importance of this cannot be overstated, as the sighting of a focal point incites motivation—the fuel, burnt to continue and complete any endeavour; more so that, of writing. With the progression of an undertaken task, inspiration increases; boosting the needed motivation to want to finish the undertaking. Placed on autopilot, motivation keeps the writing ball rolling. There are times when I get bored of carrying out this tedious task, but my gaze on the glory that will come with the next book launch keeps me working—writing, editing, formatting, and so on. I am motivated by a better punctuation placement, and grammar correction. It is cultured motivation that has aided the crafting of this rules drafted to improve the aspiring writer’s writing. If you hardly break the flow of a coming inspiration, you will be agile and fluent with work. Now that you know, I dare you to stay motivated!

Hope you can live up to expectation with the keeping of this rule: MOTIVATION—Keep you Form? It sure will bring your penning to the point of defying all odds to be appreciated by almost, if not all readers. With this rule, you will doubtless land various successes in numerous writing projects on the immediate, and replicate the same feat in future endeavours: this will happen because you would have strengthened your capableness to breaking barriers.

This rule can be positively broken, by intensifying efforts to achieve more, even when untold tired: work one more book, or article; compose another chapter, page, paragraph, and sentence; alter the new words at the point when you deem it fit already, afore a deserving rest. Do not procrastinate, even when exhausted; for that might be tantamount to abandoning ship.

Rule nine will be coming your way before you know it…. Keep watch!
